Noel Quinn Rhoads

January 3, 1969 - January 17, 2019

Mr. Noel Quinn Rhoads, age 50, of Clearwater, SC entered into rest on Thursday, January 17, 2019 following an inspirational 5 year holistic battle with cancer.

Noel was an advocate for the power and benefits of natural medicine, and was even deemed cancer free in January 2015 after practicing an all natural protocol. He inspired and mentored many people throughout his journey.

Outside of his fight with cancer, he touched lives through his talent in music. Noel got his first drum kit at the age of 3, and from there his love for music grew. He played all instruments and sang, but he was a passionate drummer. He played in multiple local bands, he was the drummer at his church, and he even had the opportunity to travel to other parts of the world as the house drummer for Carnival Cruise Lines. He’s been said to be “one of the best drummers in the world” by many who were able to see him play.

Mr. Rhoads is survived by his parents, Wayne and Jean Rhoads, wife, Renee Rhoads, daughter, Brekken Rhoads, daughter, Cassi Rhoads, grandsons, Auron and Evan, and a slew of Aunts, Uncles, and cousins.

A Celebration of Life Memorial honoring Mr. Rhoads will be held at 2:00pm on Saturday, January 26, 2019 at Christian Heritage Church, located at 285 Ascauga Lake Rd. Graniteville, SC 29829 with Rev. Tony Rhodes presiding. Per Noel’s request, we ask that everyone show up in their favorite shade of purple! In lieu of flowers, monetary donations can be made to paypal.me/BeatDrumsBeatCancer to help the family cover final expenses.

Online condolences may be expressed at www.arlingtonfuneral.com  Arlington Burial & Cremation, 1220 George C. Wilson Drive Suite C, Augusta, GA  30909  (762) 994-0311

I learned of Noel's drum talents as a child as he played music with a mutual friend Frank Locke. He and Noel made some amazing music together. I didn't actually meet Noel til later in life. He would come into the store I was a chef in quite often. I got to know him pretty good. I would help him with his diet through his battles. Such a great soul has gone home to heaven to play with Frank again. I love you brother.

God blessed the Rhoads family and all of us, his friends, with Noel. He left a piece of himself in each one of our hearts. What a gift. What a musician, what a warrior, and what a vessel that shined the light of his beloved Lord & Savior. Love, always, my friend. May God continue to bless us with Noel's example, in our memories of his earthly presence. ?

Noel's heart was pure gold. He had such a love and compassion for people few have. He was a friend like a brother. His talent speaks for itself. I'm thankful to have been a part of his life, I'm definitely better for it. I'm so sorry for the families loss. The world has lost an amazing man and heaven has surely gained an incredible drummer. Must be awesome to play in front of Almighty God. Love You Brother

Noel and I went to different high schools growing up but he was a major part of our musical brotherhood from which we pooled influence and ideas for the next great rock & roll anthem. Noel was a huge contributor and a big influence to many of us. Like most others in this circle, I drew from Noel's energy and creativity. Noel was a beautiful man inside and out... I will miss him greatly and will look forward to the day when we're reunited in the great halls of heaven to perform again... Goodbye ole friend.

Noel was a good friend in school I loved hearing him play the drums. After I quit school I didn’t see him for many years cause I went into the Navy SeaBees .Then in 2009 my late wife and I went to the Barnyard Fleamarket in Augusta and I ran into him running a booth we began to talk and we friended each other on Facebook he told me of the first battle with the cancer then a few months later he couldn’t afford his natural regime that had kept the cancer at bay and it returned with a vengeance I would buy peanuts and tell them to keep the change most times it was 5 or 10 dollars a few times 20 and I prayed for him eveytime I could and back in October I was diagnosed with stage 3 esophageal cancer I know he was a Christian so I know that’ one day I will see my ole friend again praying for the family and other friends. We lost a good friend and to some a good father and Heaven gained an Angel

What an incredible testimony and life contribution to music and the Gospel of Christ. As a friend and a pastor I aspire to match his influence both musically and spiritually. He definitely marched to his own tune as a different drummer. God bless you family as you move through your grief and loss. Thoughts and prayers, Pastor Al Branson

He sold me my first guitar and microphone at his shop at the Barnyard. The guitar he sold me he said he had hanging on his wall at home for the longest time, one he used himself. He always had a smile on his face when he greeted customers and was very friendly. I worked just across the hall from him, and it was a pleasure to meet him and his wife Renee. I know he will be playing them drums in heaven.
