Mary L. Smith

January 23, 1948 - January 29, 2019

Mary L. Smith, age 71, of Augusta entered into rest on Tuesday, January 29, 2019 at University Hospital.  She is preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Arrie Pleaconis; sister, Sophia Pauline Rheaume and brother, Earl “Buddy” Gary. 

Mary is survived by her son, Paul Anthony (Penny) Smith, Augusta; daughter, Dawn (Moose) Cunningham, Augusta, four grandchildren, Johanna Smith, Azariah Smith, Sariah Smith and Matthew Cunningham and seven great grandchildren. 

Graveside Service will be held on Saturday, February 2, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at Hillcrest Memorial Park, 2700 Deans Bridge Rd, Augusta, GA 30906.  Rev. Tula Henson, Officiating.  Friends and family are asked to meet at the cemetery at 10:30 a.m.  The family will receive friends on Friday, February 1, 2019, from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Arlington Burial & Cremation, 1220 George C. Wilson Dr., S-C, Augusta, GA 30909.  762-994-0311.

My prayers are with all y'all in the passing of Mary as she was much to each of you. I have known Mary since our years at Aiken Elementary, Aiken Junior High and Aiken High together. I loved the sound of her voice as we moved through these years. She was a lovely lady. I am happy to have know Mary, May God bless all y'all as the days ahead unfold.
