April 14, 1950 - April 23, 2019
Donald Harvey was born to the late Willie Mae Harvey- Lucas and Harry Coursey on April 14, 1950.
At an early age, his mother instilled in him an everlasting knowledge and love for God. He received his education in both Augusta Public Schools as well as New York City Public Schools. He also attended post-secondary school for Aeronautical Science and Engineering.
After High School, Donald was drafted into the Armed Services, at the age of 18. He served in the United States Army and was a highly decorated Vietnam Veteran. During his tenure with the U.S. Army he received the National Defense Service Medal of Honor, the Vietnam Service Medal with Bronze Service Stars, the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, an Aircraft Crewman Badge, an Army Commendation Medal, and an Expert Rifle Accommodation.
After his military life came to a close, Donald entered the civilian world. Mr. Harvey was the Chief Aircraft Mechanic and inspector for Trans World Air & an electrical transformer at Westinghouse to name a few.
Throughout his life, Donald had an immense love for the Martial Arts and held Blackbelts in several forms. He also loved cars, traveling, western movies, and a good cup of coffee. Although at times his career took him many miles away from his children, he loved them dearly and never missed an opportunity to tell the world about them and their accomplishments. His children, in his words, were his greatest Masterpieces.
"Don", as he was known to many, entered into eternal bliss on April 23, 2019.
Donald was preceded in death by his mother, father, brother Ronald, and sisters Betty and Mary.
He leaves behind to mourn his wife Glori Ann Harvey; his beloved children; Donald; Omar; Amanda (Larry); Shari (Thearon) & Francisco; his cherished grandchildren; four dear brothers Thomas; Earnest (Carolyn), Herman (Diane) & Dennis; and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and special friends.
