William Joseph Flanagan III entered into rest on Friday September 13, 2019. “Bill or Billy” was born in — England on October 10, 1952. He is preceded in death by his daughter Angel Davis; mother, Mary Gray of Glasgow, Scotland & father William Flanagan Jr. of - New York, NY. Bill is survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Gail Kelly; daughters, Lauren & Kelcey; granddaughter, Skye; grandson, “Wolfie”; brother, Allen Flanagan; sister-in-law in law, Jeannie; niece, Megan; & nephew, Matthew; As well as many beloved cousins, aunts, and uncles across the U.S., Canada and Scotland.
Bill’s pride & joy was his family. His joy was also brought on by his love of music. He was huge fan of The Beatles, but it didn’t just stop there. His free love and hippie mentality mixed with his work ethic made him one in a million. Billy could always make you smile with his jokes and stories, both which will be missed.
Bill was a retiree from International Paper where he served as President of the Union for years. He attended the Florida Institute of Technology where he studied marine biology & oceanography. His favorite place to be was at any beach he was laying on surrounded by friends and family. He loved the ocean & was a staunch supporter of numerous charities that promoted the health & protection of all wildlife.
The family will receive guests at a later determined time and date, please check back for final details.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Autism Speaks, a charity that was near & dear to Bill’s heart as the grandfather of an autistic child.

Oh my goodness Gail! I’m so sorry to hear this! I never met Bill but it sounds like he was a wonderful husband, father, grandpa and friend. He will be missed by those that knew and loved him.
