Mr. Arnold M. Hermes
Augusta, GA—Mr. Arnold Martin Hermes, 66, born on January 3, 1955 in Norwalk Connecticut; beloved husband of Brigitte Hermes and father to Major Michael A. Hermes, was called home on April 12, 2021, after a long battle with cancer.
Arnold loved his family, motorcycles, and using his hands. He devoted 21 years of service to the federal government with the United States Army (6) and the Federal Aviation Administration (15). He volunteered his time with Habitat for Humanity and earned the nickname “Bob.” He was a member of the Master City Riders of Augusta, GA and served on the Executive Board. Arnold will be missed by his family, and those who knew him in the community.
In addition to his wife and son, Arnold is survived by (9) brothers, Billie, Charlie, Denzil, Don, George, Herald, Ricky, Riner, and Troy; (5) sisters, Elizabeth, Deborah, Kabrina, Kara, and Regina; many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his brother; Walter Hermes.
A celebration of Arnold’s life will take place at 2:00 pm on Monday, April 19, 2021 at Piney Grove Baptist Church located at 5060 Mike Padgett Hwy, Augusta, GA 30906 with a repass to follow.
