Senior Drill Sergeant Milton D. Brooks of Hephzibah, Georgia was called home to be with His Lord and Savior on Saturday, February 6, 2021. He is survived by his daughters, MSG(RET) Sheryll D. Lander of Hephzibah, and Tammie D. Cox of Bremen. DSGT Brooks also had numerous grand and great grandchildren. Mr. Brooks was a native of Texas and was preceded in death by his Mother, Bessie Mildred Brooks, and Karl Allen Brooks, both of Texas.DSGT Brooks retired from the Military in 1999 after servicing his country for twenty-one years. In retirement he was an avid fisherman, and served as the chairman of Joint Forces Headquarters Family Readiness Group (JFHQ-FRG) during the deployment of 48th
Lightning Brigade to Iraq in 2003-2004. He was also awarded the FRGs highest award by GEN Poythress in 2004 after raising over five thousand dollars for the families of deployed Guardsman. He was always giving back to Soldiers.Going home services will be held by the family at a private ceremony. Per his last wishes, He will be inurned at Dallas-Ft. Worth National Cemetery in his beloved Texas.
