Robert Darryl Fuqua was born to Arlene and Lee Burrell Fuqua on August 29, 1935 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He attended public schools, graduating from Schenley High School. He then served his country in the United States Army from July 1953 to July 1957, receiving an honorable discharge. He fathered two daughters, Dana Nwoye and the late Mia Hotkowsky. He worked for many years for the Gulf Oil Corporation and relocated to North Augusta, SC in 1989. He worked with several DOE subcontractors at the Savannah River Site until ill health resulted in his retirement in 2009. He spent his last years in personal care home until his transition on April 27, 2021.
He is survived by his longtime companion and friend, Janice Daniels, daughter, Dana (Andy) Nwoye and two granddaughters, Adaora and Uchenna; a niece and nephew, Robert and Pamela Thomas, and family; and many other loving family and friends.
Robert was best known for the love of his life, his 1980 Pontiac Firebird. He loved NASCAR and all car races and shows, movies, Jazz music and traveling. He loved best spending time with his daughters, who were their father’s heart. May Robert rest in peace.
